Hello, and welcome to my little corner of the internet! Since you’ve landed here on this page and have continued reading up to this point, I suspect you’d like to learn a little bit more about who I am. I wear many hats these days: Mama, Writer, Scientist, Fantasy Nerd, Jesus Follower. I find that people are rarely straightforward, nor easily defined by a handful of titles. In my case, I’ll even go a step further and say that at times, my self proclaimed identities can seem a bit contradictory.
“What do you mean you are both a scientist and follow Christ? Isn’t it hard to switch between writing complex scientific topics and flowery, dramatic, fantasy worlds? How do you balance being a stay at home mom and working as a writer?“
Personally, I quite like contradictions. They make life ~spicy~, but in truth, I don’t find that these pieces of myself actually work in opposition. Rather, they afford me a unique perspective, an opportunity to exist in a space somewhat uncharted, and open doors to lots of cool conversations.
Rest assured, however, that I myself am far from cool. When I’m not writing, I can be found watching TV, reading books, playing make believe with my daughter, singing along to Disney & Broadway tunes, hanging out with my equally nerdy husband, or sharing a cup of coffee with friends and family.
